Brandon's

Priorities for

District 9

Public Safety

Priority:

Support law enforcement, strengthen local emergency response, and help create safer neighborhoods for families and businesses.

Action:

Brandon supports stronger coordination between local agencies, improved staffing, support for neighborhood watch efforts, tougher consequences for repeat offenders, and practical crime-prevention strategies that focus on keeping communities safe without burdening law-abiding residents.

Economic Growth

Priority:

Protect small businesses, reduce unnecessary regulations, and promote an economy where local employers can grow and hire.

Action:

Brandon supports cutting red tape for small businesses, opposing excessive mandates that drive up costs, encouraging local investment, and advancing practical pro-business policies that help family-owned companies, agriculture, and main street employers stay competitive.

Education & Families

Priority:

Strengthen schools, support parental rights, and improve accountability in education.

Action:

Brandon supports policies that keep parents informed and involved, prioritize classroom learning, support safe school environments, and improve transparency so families know how decisions are being made and how schools are performing.

Affordability

Priority:

Lower costs for working families and promote fiscal responsibility in Sacramento.

Action:

Brandon supports reducing the tax and fee burden on Californians, opposing wasteful spending, encouraging affordable energy and fuel policies, and focusing government on core services so families can keep more of what they earn.

Environmental Fire Protection

Priority:

Protect lives, homes, and rural communities through better fire prevention and land management.

Action:

Brandon supports increased vegetation management, stronger fuel-reduction programs, improved forest and open-space maintenance, local emergency preparedness partnerships, and faster state support for communities facing wildfire risk and insurance fallout.

Human Trafficking

Priority:

Confront trafficking with strong enforcement, victim-centered support, and community awareness.

Action:

Brandon supports tougher penalties for traffickers, stronger coordination between law enforcement and victim-service organizations, public awareness campaigns, and better support pathways for survivors seeking safety, treatment, and stability.

Insurance Rates

Priority:

Address rising homeowner and automobile insurance costs that are hurting families, drivers, ranchers, and rural property owners.

Action:

Brandon supports holding Sacramento accountable for policies that increase risk and cost, improving wildfire mitigation and infrastructure resilience, encouraging a more functional insurance market, and pushing for practical reforms that help stabilize rates and expand access to coverage.

Mental Health

Priority:

Improve access to mental health support before people fall into crisis.

Action:

Brandon supports stronger partnerships with county mental health departments, local providers, schools, law enforcement, and organizations such as NAMI. The goal is earlier intervention, better crisis response, and more consistent support for families dealing with mental health challenges.

Substance Abuse and Treatment

Priority:

Promote prevention, treatment, recovery, and accountability.

Action:

Brandon supports stronger local treatment partnerships, better access to recovery resources, education aimed at prevention, and coordinated response strategies that connect people to help while also addressing criminal activity tied to addiction and trafficking.

Homelessness

Priority:

Focus on practical, accountable solutions that move people toward stability while protecting public

spaces and neighborhoods.

Action:

Brandon supports a results-driven approach that emphasizes mental health treatment, substance abuse services, housing pathways tied to accountability, local coordination, and measurable outcomes instead of endless spending without real progress.

Veterans & Veteran Families

Priority:

Our veterans and their families often carry burdens long after military service ends. Many face challenges with timely access to healthcare, mental health treatment, employment opportunities, housing stability, and navigating the benefits they earned. Veteran families are affected as well, often carrying financial pressure, emotional stress, and the weight of supporting loved ones through service-related injuries, trauma, or long-term recovery.

Action:

I will support veterans and veteran families by fighting for stronger access to healthcare and mental health services, including faster treatment and better local availability. I will advocate for improved job placement, career training, and business opportunities for veterans transitioning into civilian life. I also support policies that strengthen housing stability, reduce barriers to benefits, and improve coordination between state, county, and community-based veteran resources. Our veterans kept their commitment to this country, and I believe our government should keep its commitment to them and their families.
